YG-5602 FAQ for handling problems with completing learning phase
The YG-5602 controller must complete a learning phase before it can be used in daily operation. This learning phase is necessary to discover certain parameters used during operation. However this learning process cannot setup the controller for any gate geometry. Gate geometry in this context means the lengths of the brackets used to attach the gate actuator to the pillar/column and to the gate, the location of the closed position stop and the location of the open position stop or internal stops. The controller logic is written with the assumption that the gate / gate actuator has been installed with the gate geometry described in the users manual http://www.gatekeeperltd.com/YG5602UE_User_Manual.pdf Page 16 / 17.
THE GATE ACTUATOR MUST BE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO THIS SPEC!!
The controller sets a timer during the initialization of the learning phase and starts the actuator moving. If it hits an obstruction before this timer expires, then the learning phase is aborted and must be started again. If the gate geometry is not setup correctly as mentioned above, then the actuator may have more mechanical advantage (leverage) than designed and therefore the movement of the gate will complete before the timer expires causing the behavior mentioned above.
